RACE DETAILS

Please read the event instructions in full :

  • The race will be held under UK Athletics rules.
  • The start and finish is at the Discovery Centre, Millennium Coastal Park Llanelli. Postcode for Satnav’s is SA15 2LF. See website on How to Get There.
  • There is parking at the Discovery Centre and you will have to pay.  There is Free car parking on the right as you enter the North Dock by the Dragon buildings which is 100m from the start line and there is also Free Car Parking at the Festival Fields which is 1Km from the Start Line.
  • Toilet facilities will be provided at the event. Participants should bring a change of clothing and waterproof clothing in case of poor weather.
  • To minimise any delays please be AT LEAST 1 HOUR EARLY
  •  The Llanelli 10 mile run will Start at 10:00am and will take place in a safe traffic free environment within the beautiful and scenic Millennium Coastal Path. The event will be marshalled and first aid cover will be provided by St. John Ambulance and qualified paramedics.
  • At the start please ensure your starting position matches your pace – i.e. slower runners must position themselves towards the back of the field.
  • The course will be on tarmac surface and is considered flat with a few mild undulations. There will be mile  markers and two water stations are on route.  You will pass these water stations 4 times. Water will also be provided at the finish.
  • There will be professional photographers at the event – don’t forget to give a smile when passing the camera especially at the finish (if possible).
  • There are 4 categories for both male and female participants. Senior (below 40 years) V40, V50 and V60 for the men, senior (below 35 years) V35, V45 and V55 for the women. Only one trophy per person.
  • Cash prizes will be awarded to the first male and female athlete to cross the finish line. Trophies will be awarded to the first three to finish in each of the categories. All entrants will receive a TShirt after finishing.
  • The race number is supplied as part of this pack. Numbers must be worn on the front – please supply your own safety pins.
  • Registration will be open between 4:00pm – 5:00pm on Saturday February 16th for runners to collect their Race Pack which will include Race Number and Timing Chips if they live locally. Registration will open again at 8:00am on Race Day for those travelling down on the day to collect their Race Packs.
  • Please make sure you have your Race Number with you at Registration. Chips must be worn as per instruction supplied. If chip is not worn correctly your running time will probably be invalid.
  • There will be an announcement 10 minutes prior to the start of the event; when participants must report to the start line of their event. A safety de-brief will be given at this time. At the race finish participants are encouraged to leave the finish area as quickly as possible.
  • PLEASE ENSURE your race timing chip is retuned at the end of the event. There will be collection boxes near the finish line for you to place the chip into.
  • Winning race results will be provided at the prize giving ceremony soon after the main event has finished. All other race results will be posted onto the event web site.
  • There will be light refreshments available at the event to include teas, coffees, soft drinks and light snacks.
